Privacy
Privacy policy for ColdBrew Awake on Mac and iPhone and this website. Effective October 11, 2026. Publisher: Kenya Sciarrilli.
Sessions stay on your Mac
ColdBrew Awake has no advertising, analytics, tracking, or separate ColdBrew account. Keep-awake sessions, battery and power readings, thermal state, and sound playback are processed locally. ColdBrew does not read your documents, browsing history, or other apps’ content.
Your preferences and activity
Mac sound settings, volume, quiet hours, appearance, battery cutoff, and menu-bar preferences are saved using macOS preferences. Session activity stays in memory and clears when you quit or choose Clear in Activity. Sounds are bundled with each app; microphone access is not needed.
Optional iPhone alerts
The connected feature uses Apple CloudKit and Apple notifications. Both devices must use the same Apple Account for iCloud. When enabled, ColdBrew stores a randomly generated Mac identifier, a generic Mac label, alert timestamps and types, and alert/sound/quiet-hour preferences, including the saved iPhone timezone, in your private iCloud database. It does not upload your Mac’s personal device name, documents, or browsing history.
Records are associated with your iCloud account and are not sent to a developer-operated server. The developer has no direct access to your private CloudKit record contents. Apple provides the iCloud storage and notification delivery. ColdBrew does not store or log your push-notification token.
View, export, or remove your records
On iPhone, open Privacy and choose View and export iCloud data. On the Mac, Disconnect and remove this Mac’s iCloud data deletes that Mac’s registration and alert records. Turning low-battery alerts off on iPhone and saving removes the notification subscriptions; alert preferences remain in iCloud. Records otherwise remain until removed. Uninstalling an app alone does not delete its iCloud records.
